What is vaq 130?

Vaq 130 is a squadron of the United States Navy which operates the EA-18G Growler electronic warfare aircraft. The squadron's mission is to provide electronic attack (EA) and electronic support measures (ESM) capabilities to airborne, surface, and ground units in joint and coalition operations. VAQ 130 is based at Naval Air Station Whidbey Island in Washington state. The squadron was established in 1998 and has been involved in numerous military operations around the world, including Iraq and Afghanistan. VAQ 130 has a long-standing tradition of excellence, and has been awarded several unit and individual awards for their outstanding performance in electronic warfare.
